Wesleyan Gladiators 2012 - The Hunger Games Edition
DWU Intramurals would like to thank SAB, UFWH, all of the students who contended and were Gladiators, and everyone who came out to watch. It was a great night and we are very appreciative of the help and support.

Gladiators
Events
Assault
Contenders will have 60 seconds to navigate between four shelters, each armed with a different source of ammunition with the ultimate goal of hitting the bullseye at the end of the course. However, Gladiators will be aiming for you with a vengeance with dodgeballs flying. If a contender is struck, he or she is disqualified. Contenders earn one point by successfully releasing ammunition. If a contender releases all four without getting struck or hitting the bullseye, he or she will earn four points. For every hit on the bullseye, contenders earn 10 points. The highest point total is 44 and the lowest is a goose egg accompanied by a measly bruise from a rifled dodgeball.
Wrecking Ball
Contenders face off against 3 Gladiators who are trying to knock them off of their pedestal with massive wrecking-balls. Points are awarded for time balanced on the pedestal. However, contenders may not go to a knee, move their feet, or touch the ground with their hands. For every 15 seconds balanced, contenders will get 10 points. The competition ends after 60 seconds.
Power Ball
In Power Ball, two contenders face off against three Gladiators. The object of the game is to dunk as many balls into garbage cans as possible, but one will have to break tackles and shake off the Gladiators to get there. For each of the 4 outer cans, contenders get 2 points per ball. For the inner can, contenders get 5 points.
Whiplash
Contenders get 30 seconds to rip the ‘dogbone’ out of the Gladiators hand or to pull the Gladiator out of the ring with it. Only one hand can be on the dogbone at all times. Completing this task earns contenders 25 points.
Gauntlet
Contenders will try to maneuver over around or through four Gladiators on their way to victory. The course is 25 yards long and 5 yards wide. Conquering it in 25 seconds or less will earn contenders 25 points. Anything under 35 seconds will earn the contender 10 points. If one is pushed out of bounds he or she must start at the spot of the pushout.
Break Through & Conquer
Contenders will have to beat a Gladiator to the goal line for a touchdown in this challenge to score 20 points. Then, he or she will face off in a sumo-style wrestling match in the second portion for another 20 points.
Hang Tough
Contenders face Gladiators in an old playground game of chicken. If the Contender lasts a full minute or reaches the other side, he or she earns 15 or 30 points.
Eliminator
This inflatable obstacle course is a blast and contenders must race Gladiators to the finish line. A whopping 30 points will be awarded for beating the Gladiator and the top two times will earn 10 and 5 points.
Saltine cracker challenge
Eat six crackers in a minute. Good luck. Ten points are awarded per cracker.
